Canopy Tree Walk Experience and Wolf Centre

The Haliburton Forest Wild Life Reserve offers many activities for the family but the Walk (Canopy) in the Clouds was one that our resort guests talk the most about. This adventure is very popular and should be planned well in advance. Summer bookings are a year in advance and off season there are times available, but must be booked. Group tours are available.

Canopy walking in the clouds is more than a guided tour, it is an experience that you will not soon forget. The four hour round trip, departing the Base Camp twice a day, a guided van tour through the private lands of Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve Ltd., passing through forests and along lakes and streams, a 1/2 kilometer walk along the scenic Pelaw River, voyageur-canoe ride across a wilderness lake to the final destination. The Canopy boardwalk is over half a kilometer long through the treetops some 20 meters above the forest floor. Two platforms, suspended from the tree tops above, become the gathering place where you can enjoy a leisurely tree top snack while your guide elaborates on the forest environment surrounding you. A spectacular view across the lakes and forests becomes a fitting closure to your tree top tour. Included in your tour is a Wolf Centre visit and property use for the day.

Days adventure with the Wolves and Forest Reserve Centre

After your days adventure to the Forest Reserve and Wolf Centre it's back to the resort for a family group BBQ and campfire songs with your family. Our suggestion is if your planning days adventure on Walking (Canopy) in the Clouds is to book this first and resort rentals second. Our cottages range from a modern four bedroom lakeview and a two bedroom lakeside cottage, most of our studio cabins for rent have wood burning fireplaces for those winter romantic nights.
